Some of the main places to visit in Gujarat are the Somnath Temple and the Dwarkanath Temple.

The Somnath Temple is situated in Saurashtra which is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas or symbols of Lord Shiva.

This temple is also called as the “Shrine Eternal”. There is a mention of this temple in the Rig Veda, an ancient sacred collection of hymns dedicated to the gods.

The Dwarkanath Temple is instead the home of Lord Krishna. It is situated on the tip of the Arabian Sea in western Gujarat, there exists the Rann of Kutchch which is noted throughout the world for the rare ecosystem, terrain and fossils.

In Gujarat there are many national parks and sanctuaries as well.

There are four national parks and 21 sanctuaries in the state of Gujarat. These are Surpaneshwar, Ratanmahal, Rampura, Purna, Paniya, Narayan Sarovar, Khavda, Kachchh desert, Jessore, Jambughoda, Barda, Balaram-Ambaji, Anjal and Nal Sarovar.

This state is the sole habitat of Asiatic Lions. Excluding Africa, this state is the singular natural habitat of lions.

Along with lions, panthers are also located in Gujarat.
