Tourist Guide Champaner:

Champaner is situated at the foothills of Pavagarh about 159 kilometers from Ahmedabad and is an ancient fortified city.

Some people have the opinion that the place is named after Champaraj who was the founder of the city while others hold that the town is named after the Champa trees that are found here.

This city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was a prominent trade center that dealt in woven and dyed textile, fine silk and sword manufacturing.

During summer the temperature varies from 23 to 44 degrees Celsius and in winters from 10 to 36 degrees Celsius.

The official languages spoken by people are Hindi, Gujarati and English.
