Sukhna Lake is an artificial lake in Chandigarh with very beautiful surroundings. Motor boats are not allowed inside the lake to preserve its tranquillity.
Towards the south of the lake there is a Golf Course.
The Rock Garden of Chandigarh was built by Nek Chand Saini, an Indian artist. The walls are built of terracotta. It has pavilions of concrete and stone.
The architecture of the garden is inspired by many cultures like that of the Mughals. There are pillars and domes. One catches the sight of beautiful streams and waterfalls in the garden. Birds, elephants, mythological and hybrid creatures are also found.
The Rose Garden of Chandigarh is Asia’s largest rose garden. It is situated in sector 16.
One can enjoy the sight of beautiful roses. Medicinal trees also exist here. Examples are Harar, Camphor and Yellow Gulmohar.
The annual Festival of Gardens is held in this garden.
