Haryana state lies in the northern part of India.
Towards the north, are Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. Towards the west and south is Rajasthan. Towards the east are Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. This state also shares a boundary with Delhi on three sides.
The height of Haryana alters from 700 to 3600 feet. Haryana has an extreme climate. In summer, it is very hot and the temperature might reach 50 °C. In winter, it is very cold and the temperature might drop to 1 °C.
May and June are the hottest months. December and January are the coldest months.
In the monsoon, the rainfall sums up to about 80 percent of the annual rainfall. Sometimes there is local flooding.
As per the 2001 census, the population of Haryana was 2,11,44,000. 88.2 percent people are Hindus, 6.2 percent are Sikhs, 5.2 percent are Muslims, 0.3 percent is Jain and 0.01 percent is Buddhist.
The state has a rich cultural heritage. The state is a home to people of disparate faiths, cultures and races.
The main languages spoken in this state are English, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu.
There are also some other dialects which have originated from Hindi.
I have studied in Chandigarh since 1966 school, college and parental house. There was a road in front of Neelam cinema in which bus no. 5 use to take us to St John School. There was a time when we use to walk from sec 18-A to serc 19-C vegetable market to purchase veg thru a fire lane amidst forest in sec 19-d. The walking time from sec 27 to 33 where we were constructing our house was about 30 mins thru Mango grooves and tandoori dhaba under few of them. It is the influx of unabated population the city is now CHOKING and price rising otherwise in a planned city for Govt employees after retirement. Still luv Chandigarh.
It a good city. People are good in nature. Honest, its well for athlete or wrestler of this district. Study is considered important. Here and its famous and old markets are kachey quarter and sec 14 here police is also quite good always thinking about people secuirity by one bad thing is that pollution and cleaniness problem. Schools are also quite good for students. And its a good city and developing city
