Bijli Mahadev Shrine
The Bijli Mahadeva Temple or the ‘Temple of lightning’ is about 10 kilometers from Kullu at a height of 2460 meters. This is a very striking temple and can be accessed only after a tough trek of 10 kilometers. From the temple there is a comprehensive view of Parvati and Kullu valleys while the 60 feet high staff of Bijli Mahadeva temple shines identical to a silver needle in the Sun. It is believed that the tall staff entices the divine blessings in the form of lightning.
Manikaran
Manikaran is situated 45 kilometers from Kullu at a height of 1700 meters and is reputed for the hot springs where the water is so hot that vegetables, rice and dal (an eatable) can be cooked in it. People regard a dip in these waters as a holy one. As this is a pilgrimage spot for Hindus as well as Sikhs, there are Ramchandra and Shiva temple as well as a Gurudwara. There is sufficient space for accommodation in these temples and Gurudwara as well as in the HPTDC (Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation) hotel.
Bajaura
About 15 kilometers from Kullu and on the main road Bajaura is situated where at a distance of 200 meters from the village a Basheshwar Mahadev temple is located between the Beas river and the main road which is believed to have been constructed in the mid 8th century.
