Shimla is a hilly region; hence tourists must take special care while visiting such areas. Many parts of the city, especially Jakhu hill is well- known for a large number of monkeys.
Try to stay away from these animals, as they can harm. Food should be kept inside bags, or monkeys may try to snatch it from your hand. Don’t make eye contact with them and just ignore them while passing by.
Any sudden move can send wrong messages towards these creatures. The temperature can go below freezing level during winters; hence travelers must carry proper clothing.
Though Shimla is a safe city, tourists must take care while traveling alone in the city. Stepping out after dark and late at night is quite risky, especially for ladies.
People in Shimla are peace loving, but tourists may come across some wacky people too. Such people try to grab tourists' attention by talking or pestering. Simply ignore them.
