Temple of Vaishno Devi
The cave shrine of Goddess Vaishno Deviji is also called as Trikuta Bhagwati. It is at a height of 5200 feet. This holy shrine is very unique as the goddess is represented by three pindis (rocks). These are called as Maha Saraswati, Maha Lakshmi and Maha Kali.
Shiv Khori
Shiv Khori is located approximately 75 kilometers from Katra. The religious significance of this place is second only to Vaishno Deviji.. It is here that a naturally forming Shiv linga (symbol of Lord Shiva) can be seen which is 4 feet high. From the ceiling one can view milky limestone water dripping from the stalagmites and stalactites. Each year on Shivratri, there is a major fair at this place.
Baba Dhansar
Baba Dhansar is situated about 10 kilometers from Katra. This is a cool and beautiful picnic spot. Amidst a thick grove of trees, a large spring emanates from the mountainside and this gives rise to several waterfalls and eventually flows into the river Banganga.
Dera Baba Banda
Dera Baba Banda is located approximately 30 kilometers from Katra and is a significant Hindu-Sikh pilgrimage center. This gurudwara (holy place of Sikhs) was constructed by Baba Banda Bairaagi on the banks of river Chenab and he spent his last days here.
