Just below Leh Palace one can find the Sunni Muslim mosque which is a very old mosque. In 1661 as the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb threatened with military action in this place the King Deldan Namgyal decided to construct this mosque.
This mosque demonstrates a blend of Tibetan and Islamic architecture and more than 500 people can pray in this mosque.
