There are many lakes in Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir. The lake is connected to almost all other lakes in its vicinity. The Britishers built some wooden houseboats and these boats still exist as vacation homes. It’s a large lake measuring 18 sq. km. and along the shores of the lake, there are many gardens and hotels. The lake also has some interesting flora and fauna.
