Tourist Guide Hospet
Hospet is a very large and well developed city found in the Bellary District in Northern Karnataka. Hospet is situated on the banks of the Tungabhadra River and is placed at a distance of 12 km from the town of Hampi. To its west is the estate of Hubli and to its east is the Guntakal. The city is well connected by road and railway. According to an Indian census the population of Hospet stands at around 163,284 inhabitants. The people of this area are polite and very hospitable. ‘Kannada’ is the language that majority of the people use in their day to day life. The temperature here is hot and the winters do not become harsh. There is high rainfall here in the monsoon season that ranges from June to September. It is in close proximity from Bangalore. The main reason that Hospet has gained popularity is because it is the main entrance to the town of Hampi, which is a site of the great Vijaynagar Kingdom.
