Hospet is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the state of Karnataka. The Chitradurga fort is an added advantage to the town’s historical beauty. This fort is famous for the story of Tipu Sultan. There are seven great walls and nineteen doors. There is a lot of technicality in making these doors and clearly depicts military strategies. The town of Hampi sends us back to history and makes us realize how the kingdom of Vijaynagar might have been existed. The holy town of Harihara is also situated here and is welcome to devotees from all over. Hampi is very near to Hospet and Hampi is world famous for having the most beautiful ruins. There is another temple called the Virupaksha temple which attracts devotees from far and wide. There is also the Vithala temple which is known for its splendid architecture and its beautiful statues, carvings and towers. Also points of attraction are the Tungabhadra River and the Tungabhadra dam.
