Mysore, a beautiful city located in the state of Karnataka in India in is the second largest city in terms of area as well as population after Bangalore. It is the headquarters of the Mysore division and is situated 146 km to the south west of Bangalore which is the capital of Karnataka. The city is spread over an area of 128.42 square kilometers. Mysore is very famous for festivals and the celebration that takes place here. It is a very religious city because of the mythological stories connected with this city which attracts a large number of tourists. The city has recorded to have a population of 799,228 in 2001 which indicates that it is a very densely populated city in Karnataka. Tourism is the major industry and economy providing occupation because of its beauty and there are many tourist places located within the city. Arts, culture and education are the other fields in which it has developed rapidly. The average temperature in the district ranges around 15 degrees in winters and around 35 degrees in summers. The average rainfall here is 78.5 cm which is less hence not much suitable for agriculture and irrigation.
