Bylakuppe is amongst the several Tibetan settlements of India and Buddhist Golden Temple is a major tourist attraction of the area. Two huge red doors mark the entrance to the temple, which are embossed with gold carvings and complex murals.

Three large statues are centrally located inside of the temple, which are gold-plated and are placed on a platform. The middle prominent one is a Buddha statue, which is around sixty-feet tall.

To the left and right of Buddha, there are Guru Padmasambhava and Amitayush statues, each fifty-eight feet tall. Accompanying these statues are two thrones.

The walls of the temple are filled with murals, which richly painted. Gongs are situated in the corner. There are beautiful gardens surrounding the temple.

The monastery located besides this temple is amongst the best places for higher leaning, where monks are taught science, literature and mathematics besides Buddhism.
