The biggest archaeological museum in Kerala is located close to Tripunithura and is called as the Hill Palace. This palace complex was constructed in 1865 and is spread over 54 acres.

There are 49 buildings in the traditional architectural style. In this complex one can locate a Children’s park, a pre-historic park, a Deer park, a Heritage museum and an archaeological museum.

The palace is at a distance of 14 kilometers from Kochi and can be reached by road. Currently, the palace has been transformed to a museum, which is open from 9 am to 12:30 pm and 2 pm to 4:30 pm, on all days except Monday.

There are 14 types of exhibits in this museum like carvings, inscriptions, manuscripts, sculptures in plaster of Paris and stone, paintings and murals.

These exhibits have been procured from the department of Archaeology, Paliam Devaswom and the Travancore Royal House.

There is a golden crown where precious stones have been affixed as well as several majestic beds, ornaments, valuable coins and examples of epigraphy.
