The Vasco da Gama Square is a narrow promenade on the beach in Kochi. It is a very famous tourist attraction where people gather for a relaxed evening walk or just to pass the time.
This is the most suitable place to view how the fishermen utilize their fishing nets. There are many stalls at this place that sell fresh delicious seafood, coconut and some other eatables along with several restaurants that are flocked by tourists for a taste of the mouth watering sea food dishes.
This square is also used as a venue for social and cultural meetings. There are numerous shops in this region that sell mementos and handicrafts of Kochi which are purchased by the tourists as souvenirs back home.
The closest railway station is the Ernakulam railway station that is almost 15 kilometers away and the closest airport if the Cochin International airport that is 35 kilometers away.
