Kumily can be referred to as a town located in ‘Cardamom Hills’ adjoining ‘Periyar Tiger Reserve’ and ‘Thekkadi’, within Kerala State’s Idukki District (South India). It’s an important trading center for spices as well as a beautiful tourist destination. As such, Kumily is popularly known as ‘The Spice Town of India’.
At present, ‘Gram Panchayat’, i.e. local self-government body of Kumily is presided over by Mr. M.S. Vasu.
