Ervakulam National Park
Ervakulam National Park, which has an area of 100 square KMS is approximately 13 KMS away from the city. Here, one can find the Nilgiri Tahr Goat, which being very friendly could be easily hunted and hence had become nearly extinct.
Tea Plantations
Although tea plantations can be seen is regions like Ponmudi, Wayanad and Thekkady, in Kerala the center of tea industry is in Munnar. It is a beautiful sight to see entire mountains covered with precisely cut plants of tea separated by regular paths. Here, tea can be directly bought from the growers in many markets. There are several tea museums and factories.
Marayoor
A sandalwood factory belongs to the Kerala Government, and a unique feature is that it is enveloped by Sandalwood trees. Below the canopy of a single banyan tree, a children’s park has been erected which has an area of one hectare. One can also find the new Stone Age civilization relics nd Forest department
