Thiruvananthapuram Beaches : Veli beachside lagoon

Veli beachside lagoon is a beach near Veli in Trivandrum and there are a host of tourist attractions here which make it a popular picnic spot.

The Veli Aakulam Lagoon as it is called lies at the confluence of the Arabian Sea and the Veli Lake. The lagoon can be explored via paddleboats and ferries.

Boating in the Veli lagoon, horse riding, children’s park and other activities provide various entertainment options. One can find water sport activities at the Veli Tourist village, which is bordered by the Veli lagoon, and one can dine at the floating restaurant here.

There are 2 scenic hillocks to the east of the lake. There is a waterfront park and a floating bridge here which connects the village to the Shanghumugham beach which is a favorite place of tourists who come here to watch the sunset.
