Transports - Thiruvananthapuram

The central railway station is situated in the midst of the city at Thampanoor which is at a distance of 8 kilometers from the airport and as from this station, fifty trains are handled everyday the city is nicely joint to the important cities in the country.

The Thampanoor station is the first station along the route of Kanyakumari to Jammu, which is the second longest train route in the world, and adjacent to the Thampanoor railway station, there is located a long distance bus station, from which, there is bus service to the major towns and villages in Kerala.

There is also transport facility to the big cities in the country like Chennai, Bangalore and Kochi. Close to the Padmanabha Swamy Temple is situated the city bus stand. The distance of this stand from the East Fort is 1 kilometer.
