Thiruvananthapuram: Monuments and Historic Buildings

Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanwantari Ashram is situated at Neyyar Dam in Thiruvananthapuram Dist, Kerala. It offers a number of courses on Yoga and Vedanta.

The Ashram provides facilities for rejuvenation therapies, worship, Panchakarma treatments, money exchange facilities, library, dormitories, boutique and a canteen.

With the cost of only about $12 per day, this place has become a favorite spot for western spiritual seekers. It is set amidst the green lawns and beautiful flowerbeds.

A number of dormitory options are available, including private rooms and general rooms; however, showers and bathrooms are shared. All the activities start very early in the morning at about 5AM and the whole day is filled with holistic and karmic activities.

Some group activities are also involved. The Yoga teachings are the highlight of the ashram with tutors who have through knowledge and are more then willing to share it with everyone.

The emphasis is on the breathing and posture. With intense Yoga techniques for intoxication, one really feels much refreshed and rejuvenated. The ashram has branches in other cities of Kerala as well as in selected cities of India.
