Established in 1859, the zoological park of Thiruvananthapuram is one of the first zoos of India. It is situated within a well planned botanical garden. This park has some of the rare species of wildlife. There are huge tress like the Frangipani and Jacaranda borders the entire lawn. The animals and the birds run and play all around and this gives an effect of a small jungle effect within the city.
