MG Road is an important road in Thiruvananthapuram which begins in the South at the Overbridge Junction near the Central Railway Station and terminates in the North at VJT Hall Junction near Palayam.
It always sees heavy traffic and a street of importance for several businesses. Padmanabha Swamy Temple is located at the west-end of the road. The road is currently in the process of being widened to six-lanes.
In front of Victoria Jubilee Town Hall, the road divides into two, making way for one-way traffic. Each path has thee-lanes for traffic.
Being such a prominent road in the city, it is also used by protesters during different marches. To reduce the heavy load on the road, the government has constructed an underpass below the one-way road.
Important landmarks that are located on the road include University College, Pazhavangadi temple and various government offices.
