The Devi Jagadamba Temple is adjacent to the Kandariya Mahadeva Temple and is located on the same terrace level.
However, this is not a Sakta shrine and the image placed in the sanctum is not of Devi Jagadamba or Kali but of Ganga.
This temple is basically a Vishnu temple. It is believed that this temple was of the quincunx type, but there is no proof of this.
The dimensions of this temple are 23.47 meters X 15.09 meters.
There is no region around the temple for completing the pradakshina (walk) and there are one-way stairs from the east direction that lead to the ardha-mandapa (front part of central hall) and further to the mandapa (central hall).
To save space, the pillars have been substituted by pilasters. On either side of the mandapa, there is only one aisle instead of the double in case of Kandariya temple
