Kulaba Fort

Alibaug’s prime attraction is the ‘Kulaba Fort’. Having encircled by sea, it’s advisable to have visited it within one hour of low tide. Visitors need to make sure that they vacate the place before the occurrence of high tide; it might prove to be fatal otherwise.

Magnetic Observatory

Established in the year 1904, Magnetic Observatory has been a unique one in Asia. Moreover, it is just one amongst thirteen ones across the globe. Data gets exchanged amongst all these at an interval of twelve minutes. This building goes on to echo houses and architecture (British Style), rare precious instruments such as a magnetograph that consists solely of stone (no usage of steel). The main function of this Observatory is to record magnetic movement within earth’s crust, along with magnetic storms that are caused due to solar storms.
