Badlapur is located in Mumbai in India. This is one fastest growing cities of India and is also known as Kulgaon-Badlapur.
This city is set in the midst of lush greenery. The town was named after the travel route from Konkan to Gujarat via Surat. Famous for its horse breeds the town was a difficult climb for the warriors and the warriors change their horses at this place. The word Badla in Marathi means “change” and since it was a town it was given a name “pur” meaning town. Badlapur was incorporated as a town in the year 1971. This city has grown into huge commercial hub within a very short span of time.
The city started its economic growth with chemical industries. The area of this town has been divided in different blocks for the small scale and the large scale industries.
There are various sightseeing near this place that attracts tourists throughout the world.
The climate of this place is pleasant during the months of August and September.
The population of this town comes to 140,917 according to 2004 census.
