Almost all the shopkeepers in Mumbai tend to tell higher prices to the tourists. The prices can be more than double or higher. For this, one needs to bargain a lot and start from half of the told price.
This is applicable to all open-air shopping areas in Bandra. The high-end shopping malls won't let the customer bargain, as prices are fixed. Check out for the quality of the object before buying it.
Many times, the objects on display have good quality and the one which is bought is of low quality. Be firm on the decision when dealing with the taxi and cab drivers.
These people often try to engage the tourists in expensive shopping at the places they want, as they get a commission from the shopkeepers. Ladies must take special care while roaming inside the city.
Those traveling alone can get into serious trouble as the city is not as safe as it looks. Never step out at night alone. Foreigners are generally targeted by some of the locals hence avoid getting friendly with strangers.
