Temple structure
Huge rocks have been carved out to create columns, the inner spaces and figures. The temple itself is a huge sculpture that has chambers and corridors, big enough for a person to walk across. The structure is formed by a rock removal process.
Temple complex
The area of the temple complex is 60,000 square feet. It consists of a main chamber, two lateral chambers as well as courtyards and some secondary shrines. The temple has three entrances. Those in the east and the west mark the axis of the temple. This axis has a twenty pillared hall. On the western end, there is a cell where one can see a Shivalingam (symbol of Lord Shiva). The pillars have a square base and fluted columns.
