Mahalaxmi Temple
The Mahalaxmi Temple is dedicated to Goddess Mahalaxmi or Amba Bai and also has temples for other deities like Shree Ram, Shree Dutta, Mahakali, Mahasaraswati, Siddhivinayak, Sheshashayi, Kartikaswami and Kashi Vishweshwar. The weight of the idol of the Goddess is 40 kgs and the important aspect is that this idol has not been sculpted by any human being but exists in its natural form called as ‘Swayambhu.’ This temple is open to the public from 4 pm to 11 pm.
Chhatrapati Shahu Museum
The royal palace is transformed to a museum that has a tableau portraying court life in the previous century, royal weapons as well as rare artifacts and paintings utilized by the royal family. This new palace has a zoo, lush green parks and a picturesque lake to pacify weary visitors.
Rankala Lake
The Rankala Lake is a spacious and wide lake and is so named as there is a temple of Rankabhairav at its center. It is believed that under the temple of Rankabhairav a golden temple is submerged. On the west bank of the lake exists the Shalini palace that is constructed of Italian marble and intricately carved black stone.
