Mumbai experiences a tropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild winters. High humidity is caused due to the city’s proximity to the Arabian Sea. The monsoons extend from June to September. The climate ranges from dry to humid throughout the year.
Mumbai prospered due to its textile mills and harbours in the 1980s. Lately, however, Mumbai’s economy has diversified into information technology, entertainment, engineering, health care, shipping and more.
