The city of Nagpur is located on the Deccan plateau of the Indian peninsula where there exists the Zero mile marker which indicates that this place is the geographical center of India.
It is the 13th largest urban conglomeration in India.
The name Nagpur is derived from ‘Nag’ which means cobra and ‘pur’ which means city. In the old city of Nagpur, the river Nag follows a serpentine path and hence the name.
The summer season in this city is extremely hot and lasts from March to June. The winter season is from November to January while the yearly rainfall is 1205 millimeters.
As per the census of 2001, the urban population was 2.1 million.

I lived and worked in Nagpur in 1936 - 1938. I was apprenticed to the owner of the Bombay Garage, Mr Chunnai who was from Bombay. I joined the British Army and was, for a while, based in Kamptee. I was very happy in my work and in my lodgings. I liked the old railway station and have looked at it on the Internet. I was married at St Francis de Sales Cathedral. My wife, Yvonne Barry, grew up in Nagpur and her father was the deputy Post Master General - James John Barry. He was a magistrate when he retired.

Nagpur is one of the fast developing city in India which is very safe city. Nagpur is safe from earthquack, it is safe from cyclone bcos it has no ocean. Its green city. Dargah of hazrat Baba tajuddin ,dikshabhoomi,ganesh tekri mandir is also situated in this city. No problume for transportation. All types of wheecles are available here anytime. Cheep city & varieties of dishes are available in mominpura anytime.

I am here from 10.6.1975 and entered to the city at 3.40 PM by GT Express. Comparing to improvement with Hyderabd, Bhilai, it is ZERO in rating. People are very lazy and dont want to learn anything. Education very sub-standard. People are good because of their lack in educational language. Industrial development, all money making only to drastic improvement in industrial growth.

One of the best & safe city. Good law & order, nice people, good weather etc. SO Many Heritage sides, good picnic spot, fully loaded medical facilities, Famous for ORANGES. Biggest HIGH COURT, MIHAN Project, International Air port, cargo hub, second capital of Maharashtra, at the last but not the least CENTER of ASIA.

It is the kind of city where we enjoy at futala lake too much and we have every fasility to everywhere and that ones the reason for me Nagpur is the best and its looking too good, here so much silent places hotels like pub like malls like parks i cant imagine its superb.

Useful for everyone, must see. Go through it for detail guidlines. Any new person can go through it. Nagpur is known as Orange city & now its one of big green city of India. Previously it is capital of C.P. & Berar. Now second capital of Maharashtra.

First of all it is a center place not only in India but also in Asia. It is a second coal belt in india. one of the safest place in the world. You know about the Nagpurian Orenges, Saoji Food, Cargo Hub, etc.

Good very good good, nice experience, good city and good environment, most of the good college, and also second capital of ms. Koradi devi mandir, ambazhari lake and ramtek is also situated there.

But for bad climate throughout year, everything under control and manageable. Real estate cheaper compared to other big cities naturally, nice city to live for retired persons.
