The University of Pune was established in 1949 under the Poona University Act and is known to be one of the most premier and recognized universities in India. Spread in an area of 411 acres, this university has 46 academic departments. Popularly known as the ‘Oxford of the East’, this place has 269 affiliated colleges and 118 recognized research institutions that offer graduate as well as under graduate courses. This university attracts more foreign students as it offers excellent facilities for them. What’s more, there are provisions of accommodation, hostels, well stocked library and even scholarships for the students.
