Tourist Guide Dimapur-Chumukedima
The areas of two cities that have been joined by the national highway no. 39 is referred to as the Dimapur-Chumukedima region. The area covers many suburbs that come on the highway between Dimapur up to Chumukedima. This part comes under the well known district of Nagaland. Although the people here are not much educated and a bit backward in terms of religions and customs, this has not been an obstacle in the commercial progress of this part. The climate here is extremely favorable to the locals and also favors the growth of plantations. The township has recently faced a population growth in tremendous amounts. It is also recorded that Dimapur’s population has almost tripled in the last few decades. According to the census records the population of the entire Dimapur-Chumukedima Township was estimated to be a whooping 230,130. Among these Dimapur holds the majority with 108,000 inhabitants. It is the largest cultural and commercial hub in the entire area of Nagaland.
