The Taj International Airport is an airport that would be built in Delhi. This would be located close to the Delhi-Agra highway and in Greater Noida.
This location of the airport is important for two reasons: firstly it is close to the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World and, secondly, there is a connection time of only 45 minutes from Greater Noida to the country’s capital.
GMR Fraport DIAL is one of the bidders for this airport and is confident that they would be successful in building this airport.
For ease of transport from this airport, the Ballia-Greater Noida Expressway has also been planned.
The exact location of this airport is Jewar in the Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh and hence there is a need of 1500 hectares of land in Jewar.
The basic problem this new airport faces is the rule as per which a second airport cannot be built within 150 kilometers of the earlier one.
