Old Delhi or Purani Dilli was founded as Shahjahanabad by Shahjahan, the Indian Emperor in 1639. Once known for its beautiful mansions, members of the royal court, gardens and mosques.
Presently, it is extremely crowded and serves as the symbolic heart of Delhi. Some of the historical sites here include Razia Sultana’s tomb, Chandni Chowk, Jama Masjid, Red Fort, Rajghat, which is the cremation side memorial of Mahatma Gandhi and many more interesting historic sites.
