Angul is situated in the state of Orissa in India. The city is also well known as the industrial hub of Orissa. Angul is located in the heart of Orissa. The cities surrounding the region and its sub parts are a symbol of its tradition, culture, and socio-economic growth. Angul is the bridge between the western and coastal areas of the state. The population of the city is 11, 39,341 as per the census of 2001. The temperature of the city is around 43.9 degrees C in summer and in winter is goes down to 14.9 degrees C.
Most of the population works in Industrial areas like the NTPC: The National Themal Power Corporation, India's leading power plant. MCL: Mahanadi Coal Field Limited, located in Talcher. FCI: Fertilizer Corporation of India with its unit in Talcher. HWP: Heavy Water Plant which is located near the city. TTPS: Talcher Thermal Power plant is one of the older power plants in the State.
