Puri is a famous city in Orissa State. The city is mostly known for its 11th century built, Jagannath temple. Every year, the temple hosts the world famous Ratha Yatra.
The temple is dedicated to the Hindu deity Jagannath or Krishna, his brother Balaram and his sister Subhadra. On the day of the Rath Yatra, three huge 'raths' or chariots similar to the temple are brought on the streets of Puri.
Thousands of devotees pull these chariots, which are considered as the homage to their Gods. This is a mega event, which is witnessed by millions of domestic and international visitors.
