Puducherry was until recently known as Pondicherry and is hot and humid year around with summer season from March to April, and cool evenings from October to November. The monsoon season is from June to August with winter season from December to February. The month of January marks the festivals like Pongal, International Yoga Festival and Fete De Pondicherry in August, attracting tourists from all across the world.

The best time to visit Pondicherry is between October to February, when the month of October is beautiful prior to the monsoon. The months of December and January are significant as the locals celebrate Christmas and New Year.  With the arrival of the winter monsoon from November till February, one can visit this place as this is the best time to visit Pondicherry. Also known as Pondy, this is a beautiful place and ideal to enjoy the holidays.
