Tourist Guide Abohar
Abohar is a city and a municipal council in Firozpur district in Punjab, India. It is located on the Ganganagar-Delhi railway route. The population of the city as of 2001 was 124,303. This city is popularly known as the “California of Punjab” for its richness of irrigation sources, soil and for the production of Kinnow, which is a fruit from the orange family.
Abohar is also known for the production of cotton and is regarded as one of the biggest cotton producing belt in North India. Abohar is a beautiful historical city situated on the interstate boundary of the country. The boundaries of the city touch the mounds of Rajasthan at one end and Haryana plains at the other end.
The economy of Abohar is mainly depended on mills and industries. There are also a large number of refined industries and cotton industries. People depend on agriculture and the city is well connected to other cities through rails and road transport like bus.
