Jalandhar Cantonment is amongst the oldest cantonments of India and is worth visiting. The shopping complex located inside, besides serving the army personnel, is also open for general public.
The best time to visit Jalandhar is from January to March, when the climate is pleasant. During this season, one can enjoy the traditional festivals of Punjab such as Basant Pachmi, where villagers enjoy kite-flying, and Lohri.
Famous attractions in the city include Pushpa Gujral Science City, Haveli Restaurant, Devi Talab Mandir, Wonderland and more.
Harballabh Fair is the most notable events of Jalandhar and so is Baba Sodal Mela.
Traditional Punjabi food such as Makke di Roti and Sarso ka saag can be enjoyed on various dhabas which are served hot with butter. A large glass of lassi after the meal is highly recommended!
