The Chittogarh Fort is named after the Chittrangad Maurya, one of the great Rajput rulers. The fort rises at a height of about 150 m above the neighboring region. It is about 3 km in length and spreads over an area of 60 acres.

Within the Chittogarh fort are the seven famous gateways or the Pols. They are the Ram Pol, Lakshman Pol, Jorla Pol, Ganesh Pol, Hanuman Pol, Bhairon Pol and Padan pol.

The Vijay Stambha (or the Ttower of Victory) lies inside the Chittogarh fort. The tower is constructed in such a way that it is also visible from the main Chittogarh town which is situated at the foothills of the Chittogarh fort.

This massive and tall tower is believed to be taken more than 10 years to erect it and is a must see for every tourist visiting Chittogarh.

The Kalika Mata temple is situated inside the Chittogarh fort. It was build during the period of influence of Maharana Pratap.

Thousands of visitors from India and also from the world come to worship the “Kali Goddess” every day.
