The Amber Fort and Palace is situated on the Delhi-Jaipur highway at a distance of 11 kilometers from Jaipur. This fort is open all days, except the festival of Holi. The recommended time to visit this fort is from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.
There are charges for admission, photography and video. This place can be reached by local buses, taxis, tempos and rickshaws from various points in the city. The Amber Fort is one of the best hilltop forts in India.
There are gardens, pavilions, palaces, huge ornate halls, temples and huge gates. A significant aspect of the visit to Rajasthan is that there are elephants that carry the visitors up and down the Amber fort, which is an enjoyable ride.
The Amber Fort is a good combination of Muslim and Hindu architecture. The Old Amber Palace is located at the base of the Jaigarh fort. From the Amber Palace, there exists a stone path that leads from the Chand Pol to the ruins of the Old Palace which exist at the base of the hill.
