Jaigarh Fort

Jaigarh Fort or Victory Fort is situated at a distance of 15 kilometers from Jaipur and it is 400 feet above the Amber Fort. The hill on which the Jaigarh Fort is built is called as Cheel ka Teela or Hill of Eagles.

As this fort was constructed to increase the security of Amber and Jaipur, it does not have a considerable aesthetic appeal and was used as the center of artillery production for the Rajputs. In this fort one can find a tall tower, many temples, well-planned cannon foundry, granary and many other palaces.

Jaivan is huge cannon in this fort and is regarded to be the largest cannon in the world.

The fort has several wide water channels and three underground tanks, the biggest of which can store 6 million gallons of water.

The museum of this fort has an assortment of photographs, puppets and coins while the armory has a 50 kg cannon ball, muskets, guns, shields and swords.
