Sheesh Mahal or the Palace of Mirrors is located at Amber fort in Jaipur. The Amber Fort is situated on the Delhi-Jaipur highway at a distance of 11 kilometers from Jaipur.

This fort is constructed in white marble and red sandstone and its beauty is exaggerated by the Maotha Lake. The construction of this fort began in 1592 by Raja Man Singh

I however the current scenario of this fort was attained during the era of Raja Jai Singh I. The outer look of the Fort is rough and weathered, while the inner look offers a warm and soothing atmosphere.

The walls and ceilings have intricate carvings and the delicate mirror work enhances the royalty and grandeur of the halls. The Sheesh Mahal is a delightful hall of mirrors that is famous throughout the world as one of the major tourist attractions.

The construction of this hall is done in such a way that even if a petite ray of light enters the Mahal this light would replicate in the mirrors and the entire hall would have a natural light up.
