Hawa Mahal meaning Palace of Winds is one of the most stunning sites in the city of Jaipur, Rajasthan. The palace was built by King Sawai Pratap Singh in the year 1799, designed by Lal Chand Usta. It is designed in a way so that it looks like crown of lord Krishna, the Hindu god. The palace consists of 953 small windows known as jharokhas. Its unique five-storey exterior resembles to the honeycomb of beehive.
The palace, built with red and pink sandstone is situated in heart of business centre of Jaipur. It is one of the important tourists’ attractions of Jaipur. It looks strikingly shining and beautiful at dawn, in morning sunrays. The palace is well accessible by train, bus or flight or by one’s personal vehicle and should not be missed if you are in Jaipur.
