Jantar Mantar is situated in Jaipur as one of the largest and best preserved of five observations created by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh in northern India. The name Jantar Mantar literally means ‘calculation instrument’. Jantar Mantar in Pink city consists of multiple structures of stone masonry build in large and varied geometric forms that have been attracting architects, artists, art historiographers and tourists around the world.
It has been inscribed on the list of world heritage as an expression of cosmological concepts and astronomical skills. Till date, the instrument of Jantar Mantar is used for weather forecasting, monsoon intensity, duration of seasons and flood projections.
