The Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum is an excellent combination of the Mughal and Rajasthani style of architecture and the complex is made up of several courtyards, buildings and gardens.

This museum has two entrances – one from Tripolia Gate and other is from Jaleb Chowk. From the Tripolia gate side the first building is the Mubarak Mahal the ground floor of which is an office and a library while the first floor has the textile museum.

From the Mubarak Mahal there is a grand brass door that leads to the Diwan-i-Khas or the Hall of Private Audience which exhibits two silver urns regarded as the largest in the world.

The Diwan-i-Aam or the Hall of Public Audience is the Art Gallery where manuscripts in Sanskrit and Persian languages are stored.

The Chandra Mahal or the Moon Palace is a seven storeyed edifice where carpets, weapons and rarities are exhibitied on the ground and first floor while the fourth floor has an impressive decoration of mica, gold leaf and mirrors all over. The Jai Niwas Garden houses the popular Shri Govindji Temple that is highly respected by the Rajputs.
