Jaisalmer is known as the terminus of a Broad gauge branch railway of Indian Railways. It junctions with the main system at Jodhpur. One can get to travel on the Palace of Wheels which has a scheduled stop at Jaisalmer. The Palace of Wheels was the first ever four luxury trains on Indian Railways. It was actually launched to promote tourism in Rajasthan and it has been quite popular since its launch.
