Rao Madho Singh Museum
The Rao Madho Singh Museum is one of the best maintained museums in Rajasthan which is closed on Fridays and all state holidays.
Here, one can view the armory of the Rajput heroes, manuscripts of Rajasthan, figurines of statue, silver utensils, coins and epigrams. The Kota school of painting is showcased here. The objects in this museum are arranged in a chronological order.
City Fort Palace
The City Fort Palace is one of the largest fort complexes in Rajasthan and has rugged ramparts as well as bastions that have been decorated with delicate domes and balustrades. This fort’s attractive entrance is called as the Hathi Pol or Elephant Gate which was constructed in the 17th century AD.
Chambal Gardens
The Chambal Gardens are located two kilometers towards the south of the Kota Fort on the banks of the Chambal River. At the center of these gardens there is a murky pond in which one can see crocodiles.
There is a shaky suspension bridge over this pond. Formerly, there were big crocodiles present all over the river and these have been decimated due to hunting. Only a few of them remain in the pond. It is also possible to view some Gharials which are thin-snouted and fish eating crocodiles.
Kansua Temple
The Kansua Temple has a splendid four headed Shiva Lingam (symbol of Lord Shiva) that has been carved from stone. It is believed that this temple is so auspicious that even if one comes to this temple unknowingly the visitor gets the eternal blessings of Lord Shiva.
