Udaipur is a city located in the state of Rajasthan in India. This city is also called as “Venice of the East” and the “City of Lakes.”

It is a beautiful land surrounded by an azure water lakes, amidst the lush greenery of the Aravallis.  

The administrative headquarters of the Udaipur district are situated in the city. In the year 2007, Udaipur became the second best city in Asia as well as the seventh best city in the world.

The latitude of Udaipur is 24.58 degrees North. The longitude is 73.68 degrees East. The average elevation of this place is 598 meters above sea level.

In the summer season, the temperature ranges from 28.8 degrees Celsius to 42.3 degrees Celsius. The winter season temperatures vary from 2.5 degrees Celsius to 28.8 degrees Celsius. The yearly rainfall of this city is 61 centimeters.

The population of Udaipur was 550,000 as per the Indian census of 2001. The literacy rate on an average was 77 percent, and most of the people speak Hindi and can converse in English.

This city is also called as “White City Palace” : this palace in Udaipur is an interesting mix of the Chinese and European architecture.

Do's and Don'ts - A code of conduct for both the tourists and the hosts has been worked out as under: - DO's DONT's ACCOMODATION: Always book into approved/classified hotels or RTDC run hotels. Make enquiries at the Rajasthan Tourism tourist information bureaus located at most railway stations, bus stands, airports. Before staying in a paying guest accommodation, always check about its authorization by the Department of Tourism. Always keep your hotel room locked when inside or when out for sight seeing, shopping etc. Don't stay with or be coaxed into staying with people you meet at railway platforms, ... More bus stands or shopping areas. Don't think you are getting a bargain if a free ride is given by any transporter to a hotel. Check with Rajasthan Tourism tourist information office first. Don't allow any one into your room for a drink and snacks or just a chat unless the person is really well known to you.

Udaipur is a very good city and Udaipur people are so very good ... and city is so very small city and udaipur colleges are so very very good and temple are so make like so wunderful... and Udaipur celebration is so very nice ... and fteha sagar is a very cool place.

Udaipur is a very good town, very safe with very good people, good accommodation, very useful community home guards, no police problems, you can work throughout the night without problem. Chatack nanpura ganesh naga are some of the most enjoyable places.

Beautyful city, I am also from this city. All tourist, plz visit udaipur. It's so amazing. u want to go this place, I love it most, I love this city
