Jain Temple – Ranakpur

Ranakpur is a village in the Pali district of Rajasthan and is easily accessible by road from Udaipur.

The famous Jain temple in this village is dedicated to Lord Adinatha. The dimensions of this temple are approx. 62 X 60 meters. For the construction of this temple, light colored marble is used.

There are distinctive domes, cupolas, turrets and shikaras associated with the temple.

There are more than 1444 marble pillars that support the temple. The significant aspect regarding these pillars is that no two pillars have the same carving and it is thought that it is not possible to count the total number of pillars.

Additionally, all the statues face some other stature. There is a magnificent carving that has been created from a singular marble rock. On this carving, there are 108 heads of snakes and several tails. The ends of the tails cannot be found out.
